Outdoor rules in Canada
Outdoor gambling ads restricted
Only provincially authorised operators may advertise, such as AGCO-registered operators in Ontario and AGLC-registered operators in Alberta. Under the AGCO Registrar's Standards, igaming ads may not appear on billboards or other outdoor displays next to schools or youth venues, and athletes have been banned since February 2024. Federal Bill S-211 (national sports betting advertising framework) was reported to the House of Commons with amendments on 4 November 2026 and is at report stage; it sets no binding advertising rules itself.
- No billboards or outdoor displays next to schools or youth venues (Ontario)
- No active or retired athletes, except in responsible-gambling messages
- No celebrities, influencers or cartoons likely to appeal to minors
