Outdoor rules in Germany

Outdoor gambling ads permitted

Only licensees on the GGL whitelist may advertise (§ 5 GlüStV 2021). The treaty sets no outdoor-specific or school-distance rule; general limits apply and individual licence conditions may add media-specific terms. The treaty's evaluation, due by 31 December 2026, is reviewing advertising.

  • Ads must not target minors or similarly vulnerable groups
  • In sports venues, umbrella-brand advertising only
  • No TV or internet ads for online casino, slots or poker between 06:00 and 21:00
