AGLC advertising compliance in Alberta, Canada
Alberta is opening the second competitive online gambling market in Canada. The iGaming Alberta Act creates the Alberta iGaming Corporation alongside AGLC oversight, so private operators will be able to run licensed casino and sportsbook media in the province rather than only through Play Alberta.
- Minimum age
- 18+
- Jurisdiction
- Alberta, Canada
Licence requirement
Until the Alberta framework is live, only the provincial Play Alberta offering may be advertised in the province. We prepare campaigns now and activate them when an operator holds its Alberta registration.
How we run each channel under AGLC
Display advertising
Display is planned to an 18+ floor with responsible-gambling messaging, no inducement-led creative, and exclusion of youth-oriented inventory.
Video and CTV
Video and CTV follow the 18+ floor with no youth-appealing treatments and no suggestion that gambling resolves financial problems.
DOOH and outdoor
Outdoor and DOOH are planned as general-audience media at the 18+ floor, with school and youth-facility exclusion zones applied to every screen.
